Pumpkin Pickin' & Fall Delights

It's hard to find the words to describe what makes Tennessee special in the fall.  While we enjoy fall foliage there are more unique experiences..  From fall drives to Pumpkin pickin' and a variety of treats, there's plenty to satisfy everybody's fall favorites!  Visit Websites below for more details.  You can find fall treats and beverages at many locations from coffee shops to tea rooms as well as some restaurants.  If you're in town earlier, there are plenty of fall activities to do and experience.  However, if you're lucky, you jjust might catch our small window of color that starts anywhere from end of October to first week of November.  You can always google to see if there will be fall color when you will be visiting.  The fleeting color offers beautiful walks and breath taking scenic views.

Harvest Beverages

Of course any coffee or tea shop will have fall offerings to enjoy while you're out enjoying the fall weather.  Slow down and enjoy a pumpkin latte or a beverage of your choice, or take one to go on your way to another exciting fall activity.  Local favorites are:  Crema Coffee Roasters and Frothy Monkey.  If tea is your favorite, and you want to enjoy seasonal delights, head over to The Tea Party or the Tea chest

The Gentry Farm

Be sure to check out Gentry's farm for family fun.  Just 30 minutes outside of the Nashville area, in the rolling hills of west Franklin, you'll be feeling like you're stepping back in time.  Antique looking barns, and concession stand, along with an antique looking barn store where you can find everything from kitchen towels, fall statues, and signs.  Tucked in the back corner of the store you will find jams, jellies and other items to buy.  The staff is always inviting and friendly to speak with and the atmosphere is amazing!   You can only visit the store without a ticket or pay for entrance for family fun with the little ones.  You will find pumpkins to pick, and animals to see, as well as enjoying a tractor  hay ride.  There is something to enjoy by all who visit!  Come as you are and enjoy this fall favorite!  Make sure to pick yourself a pumpkin'!

 

Location: 1974 New Hwy 96 W, Franklin, TN
Parking:  There is a clear entrance and exit.  Be sure to enter the second entrance from the street.  Now y'all slow down now ya hear?  Or you might just plumb miss the entrance and it will land you on an endless backroad with no turn-arounds.  Parking is free and there are parking staff to show you where the empty spots are.

Note:  Wear some sturdy shoes or boots as this is a working farm.  You will be walking in grass, mud, dirt, and rocks at various points of the farm..  See website for fees closer to the time.  Their website is shut down from information until early fall.

Leipers Fork

Small town vibes is all you'll find in this rural yet charming village.  People traveling from  all over the world to visit TN will stop by this not so hidden gem in Franklin for shopping, good food and good people!  Whether you're wanting art, clothing, antique finds, or unique gifts, Leipers has it all.   If you need a mid day pick me up, head to Red Byrd Coffee in Leipers  where you will find optional picnic table seating.  On Sundays the local like to gather around the Red Byrd for eating and connecting.
 

In the fall, you can listen to live music and dine at the Fox & Locke and roast some marshmallows around an open fire outside.  This village loves decorating for the seasons and you can expect to see fun favorites!  This village is open to the public 7 days a week.  For specific hours or shops and activities you can enjoy anytime, visit the website below.

Parking:  There is free parking on the street  before you hit the shops.  Some shops have a mini parking lot you are welcome to use, but space is extremely limited and leipers stays busy with its locals during the week and visitors from all over on the weekends.  Drive slow enough and you will notice signs pointing the way to extra parking lots nearby.  There is a church parking lot available during the week for a fee.

Ghostly Haunts

If you enjoy ghosts, goblins and love to be frightened, consider taking a ghostly tour of Franklin at night, where you will be lead to the most haunted buildings and told the haunting stories of Franklin's past.  For one night only, you can also experience the Tombstone tour where theatrical tales from a range of actors and actresses will tell you stories of the towns history from the beyond as you approach each person dimly lit by the glowing lanterns.

Dates:  The spine chilling ghostly walking tour is open year round with limited restrictions.  The tour is 90min by foot only.

Time:  Times range depending on time of year.

Cost:  $25/adult  $15 for ages 17 and under (Parental discretion advised)

The Tombstone tour is a night to remember.  Costumed actors of all ages are positioned throughout the historic cemeteries, each giving a brief monologue as the person buried there. “History comes alive when told from the grave.” We recommend closed-toe shoes, as the ground is uneven. Not all areas are wheelchair or stroller-friendly. This event goes rain or shine, cancelling only in the event of sub-freezing temps, tornado, or lightning within the historic district.

Nashville Festival

Grab your tickets now for the 4th annual festival in Nashville y'all!  Every weekend weekend brings in a different event along with the regular favorites!  You can come for the car show, and stay for the music, or see what other events are taking place.  There is fun for everyone of all ages.  You can take an epic stroll alongside the river to enjoy the fall color, stay for live music a corn maze and pony rides for the little ones.  If you are feeling a bit more adventurous you can book affordable tickets for hot air balloon rides or helicopter rides.  If  you prefer to stay on the ground, you can enjoy a tractor hay ride and shopping for pumpkins.  Slow down and smell the flowers as you wonder through 7 acres of wild sunflowers and be sure to get a selfie in the pumpkin forest where you will find many hanging pumpkins for fun photos to remember the occasion!  There are multiple food trucks for some food while you enjoy the festivities.  Open Fri-Sun

Cedarwood Farm

Head to Mcminnville to find fun for everyone young and those young at heart!  You'll find adventure for kids from a giant slide, to a corn-maze, petting zoo,  pumpkin trains and more to be explored.  For the young at heart, there is an "old timers" barn where you can step back into time of 1800s, or enjoy bonfire and music on the weekends.  Anyone can stop by the country kitchen for some good ole southern food.  This place has it all!.  open Thur-Sun
